Primus Line

Primus Line® technology is used for the trenchless rehabilitation of pressurized pipelines (Primus Line® Rehab) and for the construction of freely layable pipelines (Primus Line® Overland Piping).

The idea for an innovative product was born over 25 years ago. Today, Primus Line® is used worldwide as a safe, reliable and sustainable solution. It is used in the trenchless rehabilitation of pressurized pipelines (Primus Line® Rehab) and in the construction of freely layable pipelines (Primus Line® Overland Piping).

The core of the Primus Line® technology is a flexible pipe consisting of a fabric- reinforced liner and specially developed connectors. Suitable for the transport of water, oil and gas, it has the necessary approvals from many countries around the world and meets the highest standards for use in the drinking water sector, amongst others NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 & 372 Primus Line® technology is both strong and flexible. This is ensured by the multi-layer construction of the liner and the specially developed, leak proof connectors.

The Primus Line pipe has a three-layer structure. The inner layer is adapted to the respective medium to be transported and is made of polyethylene (PE) or thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) with high chemical, abrasion and corrosion resistance. The middle layer consists of a seamless woven Kevlar® fabric. It accommodates the operating pressure by itself and is up to 10 times stronger than steel of the same weight. The outer layer of polyethylene (PE) or thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) protects the fabric from UV light and abrasion during installation and operation.

For transport the flexible pipe is coiled in U-shape on special reels and delivered to the customer. Depending on the diameter, a single reel can hold up to 13´120 feet of pipeline, which can be efficiently loaded onto a single truck. This approach can minimize both logistics costs and the environmental impact associated with transportation.
