With over 50 years of experience in Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection, OSHA Compliance, and Air Monitoring, Ed Fitzgerald has built a career dedicated to safety, education, and hands-on field excellence. Ed has instructed at the University of Findlay, Bowling Green State University (State Fire School), and through the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, sharing his expertise with thousands of professionals across the country. He is also Ohio EPA–approved to provide contact hours for both the municipal sewer and industrial manufacturing sectors. Recognized as a long-time presenter at the WWETT Show, Ed has played a key role in shaping today’s sewer cleaning and safety practices. Over five decades, he has helped develop some of the industry’s most effective and practical collection system cleaning techniques and confined space procedures. His comprehensive knowledge spans every aspect of confined space entry — including fall protection systems, air monitoring instrumentation, and mechanical/rope rescue techniques — making him a trusted leader in advancing safety standards and workforce training across the wastewater industry.
